JLS singer JB Gill, 33, is said to have been sprayed in the face with a mystery substance during a terrifying raid of his family home.
The former X Factor winner is said to have been taken to hospital for treatment after the incident, which took place at the picturesque farmhouse he shares with his wife Chloe, 32, and their two sons.
The Sun reported that Chloe was “threatened with a knife” before a gang of four raided the home.
They are said to have fled the property with various valuables.
The family escaped any serious injury but were left “extremely shaken”.
The incident is now said to being investigated by the police.

A source told the publication: “This was a terrifying incident.
“He wanted to protect her and their kids but the best way to do that was to cooperate with the gang.
“Police and medics rushed to the house and JB was taken to hospital.
“Luckily, he wasn’t badly hurt and was able to leave later that day.”
A rep for JB Gill has been contacted by Daily Star Online for comment.

JB first found fame in 2008 as part of X Factor boyband JLS.
While they missed out on winning the show to Alexandra Burke, they went on to enjoy impressive chart success.
After five years of hits JLS called quits in 2013.
They had planned on reuniting this year however, due to the pandemic fully reunion details were put on ice.
After the band went on a break, rather than trying for a solo career, JB splashed out on his 11-acre farm for a more stress-free life.
While he mainly went under the radar for a few years, JB did return to TV to co-present children TV series Down on the Farm.
Speaking frankly about his new life away from the stage, JB said: “The pop star lifestyle is full-on. You don’t get much time off so I wanted somewhere peaceful I could escape to.
“The farm became the perfect place to relax and recharge.
“It’s the ideal place for my family to enjoy the British countryside.”
