Love Island's Ollie Williams asked if he's 'got a gun' on holiday snap after hunting drama

Ollie Williams hit headlines while he was starring in the winter edition of Love Island after photos emerged of him grinning as she posed by dead wildlife.

Viewers were in an uproar and pledged for ITV to remove the 23-year-old from the popular show, but within a week he left after claiming it was because he still had feelings for his ex-girlfriend Laura Nofer.

Since Ollie has denied that he is a “trophy hunter” and claims the snaps had been taken in Mozambique, during an opportunity to support a conservation and anti-poaching project.

But some fans are speculating that it is a “cover-up story”, with one taking to Ollie’s latest Instagram pic to question the reality star.

After Ollie shared a pic of him skiing while wearing a backpack to his 67,000 followers, one commented: “You got a gun in that bag g?”

To which Ollie replied: “Nope,” followed by a kiss.

During his short stint on the show, Ofcom received 231 complaints after spectators found the pictures to be disturbing.

After leaving the villa and seeing the backlash, he told The Sun: “I can see why people reacted to those pictures in the way they did.

Ollie replied to the social media user after the probe

“The photos are offensive, all people can see is a dead animal and me smiling and I apologise for the offensive nature of them.

“I knew the negativity was about these pictures because taken out of context they look bad.”

Explaining that the photos were for a conservation and anti-poaching project, Ollie continued: “Sustainable hunting is conservation, all the money made goes back into protecting the wildlife.”

The heir to the Lanhydrock estate has also confirmed that he has rekindled his romance with Laura since departing from the ITV2 show.

Ollie put an end to his stint on Love Island just three days into his journey, claiming he needed to leave because he’d realised he was still in love with his former flame.

Love Island airs nightly on ITV2 at 9pm
