Naya Rivera’s ex-husband Ryan Dorsey has reportedly filed a wrongful death lawsuit on behalf of son Josey.
Us Weekly reported Dorsey, who Rivera was married to from 2014-2018, filed the paperwork on Tuesday November 17.
The lawsuit is reportedly being brought on behalf of the five-year-old son Josey, whom Naya shared with Ryan.
Josey is allegedly suing Ventura County, California, where his mother died in July.
He is also reported to be suing United Water Conservation District and the county’s Parks and Recreation Management for wrongful death and negligent infliction of emotional distress.

The complaint, which was obtained by the American news outlet, insisted that the Glee star’s death was preventable.
It also alleged that the boat Naya and Josey had rented from Lake Piru did not meet U.S Coast Guard safety standards.
The alleged complaint reads: “[The boat] was not equipped with a safely accessible ladder, adequate rope, an anchor, a radio or any security mechanisms to prevent swimmers from being separated from their boats.

“Disturbingly, later inspection revealed that the boat was not even equipped with any flotation or lifesaving devices, in direct violation of California law, which requires that all pontoons longer than 16 feet be equipped with flotation devices.”
The complaint also goes onto allege that there was not a “single sign” warning of the lake’s strong currents.

The coroner’s death certificate declared the 33-year-old actress died by accidental drowning.
Ventura County Police Department said at the time, that Naya likely used her last bit of strength to push Josey to safety on the boat.
Josey is reportedly now living with Ryan full-time and is “doing better every day” following his mother’s tragic death.
The insider continued to Entertainment Tonight in August: “Ryan’s whole world is Josey right now.
“Ryan is still grieving and is very much struggling with the loss of Naya, but he stays strong and keeps going for the sake of his son. Ryan would do anything for Josey.
“Right now, he’s really laying low and staying out of the public eye so he can completely focus on Josey and try to figure out how to navigate this new normal.”
