Piers Morgan slams Boris Johnson and 'Covidiots' in fiery social media rant

Piers Morgan took another swipe at Boris Johnson in a ferocious social media rant.

The 55-year-old Good Morning Britain presenter didn’t hold back as he slammed the Prime Minister after it was announced England would go into lockdown for four weeks from Thursday.

Piers wrote in a ferocious rant: “How many people will die because Boris Johnson dithered and delayed again? Aided and abetted by all the ill-informed, complacent and deluded Covidiots screaming ‘no lockdown!”

His tweet was a reply to a tweet posted by Shadow Foreign Secretary Lisa Nandy which read: “On the day Sage recommended a circuit break the daily death rate was 11. Yesterday it was 326. Keir Starmer is right to say there is a terrible human cost to the Government’s indecision and delay”.

Earlier this week, Piers begged for “Covidiots” to unfollow him on Twitter as he defended himself against online abuse.

He was reacting to the news of France’s nationwide lockdown last Friday following an announcement from president Emmanuel Macron.

The GMB presenter called out Prime Minister Boris Johnson, writing on Twitter: “Britain needs to lockdown – nationally, and immediately. And Britain also needs to ensure non-Covid patients get treated and businesses don’t go bust.

“This is on you Boris Johnson – you’re supposed to be the leader of this country, so lead.”

He added: “Can all Covidiots please just unfollow me and f*** off. This second wave is extremely serious and I’m not interested in your insane conspiracy theories, your dumb fake charts, your ‘proof’ that Covid’s ‘not as bad as the flu’ – or any of your ignorant abusive garbage.

“Our health and care workers are facing another incredibly tough, challenging and dangerous few months.

“I wish them all the very best of luck and thank each and every one for their heroic service.”

Piers and his son Spencer have been clashing on social media over their views on the coronavirus pandemic and related lockdown guidelines.

Spencer, 27, tweeted: “Lockdownists think money grows on trees don’t they?”

His famous father retweeted and added his own comment, reading: “You can revive economies, you can’t revive dead people.”

After Piers told all “Coviditios” to “f*** off”, his son retweeted the post and added: “It was a fun 27 years. Farewell.”
