Sam Smith tried out a striking new look over Instagram this week, modelling a sultry black wig with bangs.
The 27-year-old, who identifies as non-binary in terms of gender, invited their followers to come up with some clever names for the female alter-ego.
Posing in a burgundy fur coat, Sam asked: “What’s her name?”
In the comments below, a bevvy of fabulous suggestions were made, from Bad B Bianca to Samára Smithsonian.
One fan said: “SHANNON.”

A second added: “MÓNICA.”
And a third remarked: “Patricia, but the gals call her Fritz.”
The Oscar winner has been a pioneer for bringing non-binary identification to the mainstream, always remaining open and honest with their fans.
Last year, the BRIT Awards were inspired by Sam in their decision to banish the male and female music categories, in a bid to be more gender-inclusive.

Sam opened up about their relationship with gender in an interview with Jameela Jamil last September, reflecting on the conflict between body and mind.
They said: “You do not identify in a gender.
“You are just you. You are your own special creation. That is how I take it. I am not male or female. I think I float somewhere in between – somewhat on the spectrum.”

The Money on my Mind singer added: “I’ve always had a bit of a war in my body and my mind…I do think like a woman in my head at times.
“I’ve sometimes sat there and questioned, ‘Do I want a sex change?’ It’s something I still think about, but I don’t think it is.
“I’ve tried to change that into my thoughts on gender…when I move, when I have sex with men, it’s very feminine. I’m feminine in many ways – and I’ve resented that.”
