Britain’s Got Talent is set to be an emotional rollercoaster tonight, as mother/daughter duo Honey and Sammy are given a second chance to sing in front of the judges.
Honey, 14, and Sammy, 43, from Essex, are told be head judge Simon Cowell to come back and sing again later in the day, as he feels their first song choice, which was Sara Bareilles’, She Used to Mine wasn’t a good fit.
Mum Sammy says: “We’ve just learnt this. I have got the lyrics on my hand.”
Amanda tells them: “You’re so brave to do this.”
Mum Sammy replies: “Thank you. Not only is it a great song, but obviously I’m a mummy and I can identify with the lyrics.
“I’m sure every mummy can and she has really been my rock and got me through stuff.”
The duo sing Freya Ridings’ Lost Without You for their second attempt in front of the panel of judges.
As the song draws to a close, the camera pans to show hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly who were waiting in the wings for the pair to come off stage.
Ant looks visibly tearful at the act’s performance, after previously saying how “good” they were in a piece to camera.
Earlier on in the programme, Honey revealed she had wanted to audition for the programme as the last couple of years had been “tough” due to Sammy’s cancer battle.
She shares: “Over the past couple of years, my mum got got diagnosed with cancer.
“And to be here with my mum is the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”
Simon then asks Sammy how she’s feeling now, to which she responds: “Yeah absolutely fine, it’s all fine.”
Honey then continues: “I’m just so grateful for everything I never thought when me and my mum were singing in the car it would bring us to this stage.”
