An entertainer on tonight’s Britain’s Got Talent has already got the seal of approval from comedy legend Peter Kay.
Steve Royle will be seen performing jokes, magic and juggling for the judges on the ITV show.
But he has previously worked alongside Peter in hit comedies Car Share, Phoenix Nights, Max And Paddy’s Road To Nowhere and Britain’s Got The Pop Factor.
His roles included playing a rubbish juggler, a badly-behaved Santa and one of The Munsters.
Comedy star Kay even mentions Steve in his autobiography, Saturday Night Peter, where he calls the dad-of-three “a brilliant comedian”.
Steve, 51, from Chorley, Lancs, has also been on stage performing comedy with Steve Coogan, Dave Spikey and Roy Walker.

And he was the warm-up man at The Royal Variety Performance one year, getting the audience in the mood for laughs.
Steve said: :I have always been the bridesmaid, never the bride. My dream is to tour and have people come and see me.”
Following his audition, Simon Cowell told him: “You are naturally funny, real end-of-the-pier Britain.”

Amanda Holden said: “It was old school but it felt fresh,” while Alesha Dixon added: “You are a born performer and made everyone smile.”
Britain’s Got Talent launches tonight on ITV at 8pm. It will be followed straight after on ITV Hub by BGT: Unseen, a new sister show with more audition clips.
