Caroline Flack's mum shares details of funeral after phones were banned

Last week saw a bunch of Caroline Flack’s family and friends get together in her home of Norfolk to say goodbye to the late Love Island host.

The 40-year-old was tragically found dead in her home earlier this year after taking her own life, and was laid to rest last week.

Caroline’s mum Chris insisted that no photographs would be shared from the funeral or wake, and has now thanked those that attended for respecting her wishes.

Speaking to the Eastern Daily Press, she said: “All online activity was stopped for the day with no phones seen anywhere at the service or the wake.

“No photos have been posted of that day by anyone actually at the wake and I thank every one for respecting the family’s wishes.”

A number of photos emerged on the day that appeared to be from the wake, but Caroline’s mum has confirmed this not to be the case.

Two hundred people gathered at Greenacres at Colney, near Norwich, to say goodbye to their friend and family member.

The memorial service took place in what sounds to be a magical setting – 16 acres set in a forest.

Those in attendance included people Caroline knew from I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, Xtra Factor and Love Island.

There were also other friends, including her TV producer pal Mollie Grosberg, who had shared photos including Lou Teasdale and Caroline’s boyfriend Lewis Burton.

The service lasted for almost two years , filled with “smiles but mostly tears” as everyone remembered Caroline’s life.

Chris added: “All the family would like to say thank you so much to all Carrie’s friends who travelled from all over the world to be there that day and who appreciated why we wanted to bring her back home to Norfolk.”

She explained that attendees had the chance to share their memories of Caroline from back in her school and college days, all the way through until now.

The family chose to wear charity t-shirts made by Caroline’s friend Keith Lemon on the day.

It is believed that Caroline took her own life after it was her trial on an alleged assault on her boyfriend would be moving forward.

The telly regular had pleaded not guilty and Lewis had also said Caroline was innocent.
