Kate Garraway explained she was having difficulty reading on Thursday’s Good Morning Britain due to a pesky eye injury.
The 53-year-old addressed viewers who were wondering why she was wearing a pair of tortoise-shell glasses, as it was a change from her usual attire.
The mum-of-two told told GMB viewers: “I’ve injured my eye. I don’t know what I’ve done to it, but I’m going to get it checked today.”
She went on to explain she wasn’t sure if she’d be as good at reading her notes and the autocue on the ITV morning show – however she seemed to be doing fine, as always.

And rather than questioning the new look, Good Morning Britain viewers were loving Kate’s mini makeover.
One tweeted: “This morning Kate is rocking the glasses look.”
Another told Kate: “I think you look really nice in glasses.”
A third said: “You look great in glasses, I prefer glasses than contacts as I don’t like the idea of contact lenses.”
Someone else said: “Absolutely love your glasses.”

And a fifth added: “You look very pretty, our ray of sunshine.”
Soon enough, Susanna Reid, 49, decided to get in on the action and slipped on her glasses too.
She told her co-star: “Kate, I’m absolutely loving your glasses. I’ve got a bit of glasses envy. I just need mine for reading tiny print.”
Hanging her glasses lopsided off her nose, Kate joked: “Mine are a bit smudged, they’re a bit Eric Morecambe. I think I’ve sat on them.”
On Wednesday on her radio show, Kate explained: “I’ve got a really sore eye, it’s really hurting. I don’t know what I’ve done to it. So I can’t put my contacts in and I’m wearing my glasses.”
She joked then that listeners should listen out for any mistakes in her pronunciation, as she was struggling to read.
Kate said: “For an extra game, you can see if I get the names right because I can’t ready very well either.”
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV
