Ex- Strictly Come Dancing professional Kevin Clifton has shared that he has grown “really jealous” of his girlfriend Stacey Dooley during the coronavirus lockdown.
The 37-year-old dancer admitted he’s struggling at the fact girlfriend Stacey, 33, has continued to work as a TV presenter but his career has been put on hold indefinitely.
The Performing Arts has been one of the worst affected industries, as it has seen a lack of government grants and furlough schemes.
Many Brits fear some theatres and performance venues will never reopen again, as they struggle to bounce back from financial difficulties as lockdown restrictions continue.
Speaking on his podcast, Kevin said: “This last month, I’ve started to get an itching to get back to work, and my girlfriend is back at work.”
“I’m getting jealous of that. I’m starting to get really fed up now.
“It’s been an excuse to sit and play my PlayStation and just watch Netflix, but now I wish I could be performing.
“I think this is the least fit I’ve ever been right now.”
Kevin devastated his fans last year when he announced that he was quitting Strictly after seven years on the programme.
Kevin quit the programme one year after taking home the Glitterball Trophy with Stacey.
He said at the time it was to “focus on other projects”.
In a statement shared to Instagram, Kevin penned: “The past seven years have been some of the most wonderful years of my life.
“I am grateful to the BBC and Strictly Come Dancing for giving me the opportunity to have been a part of something truly special.
“After finishing last series with the Children In Need trophy and the Christmas Special I want to leave on a high and have therefore decided the time has come to move on and focus on other areas of my life and career.”
