Love Island's Alex George warns of sex with new partners amid coronavirus chaos

Love Island star Alex George has warned people that they should not be having sex with new partners during the coronavirus pandemic.

The doctor went as far as saying that, ideally, people should be keeping two metres away from each other – even in their own homes.

The Welsh lad said on BBC’s Newsbeat: “If you’re in a relationship… living with that person, and sharing the same environment, it shouldn’t change your situation.

“However if one of you is displaying symptoms of coronavirus then you should maintain your social-distancing and isolate, even within your home.

“In an ideal world everyone would stay two metres apart – even in their own house, but we realise this may not be realistic.”

He went on: “I certainly wouldn’t advise having new sexual partners at the moment, because the risk is you could pass on the virus.”

Alex advised: “If you’ve kissed or been in contact with someone who you think has gone on to develop coronavirus, make sure you self-isolate.”

The former reality star has been working in a London hospital during the Covid-19 pandemic and it’s been taking a toll on him.

Speaking to Kay Burley on Sky News, Alex said: “Yesterday’s shift was a particularly busy one.

“We had quite a few patients who were really quite unwell from coronavirus.

“Unfortunately, a few deaths as well which is always tough.”

Alex found fame on Love Island in 2018, though returned to his medical background after the show.

There have been more than 1,400 deaths from coronavirus in the UK so far.

Last week, Prime Minister Boris Johnson implemented a strict lockdown to stop the spread of the virus, with people having to stay in their homes.
