Rapper M.I.A. revealed she would rather “choose death” instead of getting a coronavirus vaccination as the pandemic continues to worsen.
The 44-year-old announced she was anti-vaccination, and, during a flurry of tweets on Wednesday, admitted she regretted being “made to'” vaccinate her 11-year-old son before he started school.
The Paper Planes hitmaker discussed the coronavirus outbreak on the social media platform, revealing her child became ill following his injections.
The musician, real name Mathangi Arulpragasam, wrote: “If I have to choose the vaccine or chip I’m gonna choose death.”
When a follower questioned her reasons why she decided against vaccinating, she replied: “Most of science is in bed with business.

“Business is in bed with banks, banks are in bed with tech, techs in bed with us, we’re in bed with corona. Corona is in bed with science. So on… the best is prevention.”
But her comments did go down well with her 651,000, with one user exclaiming: “Oh great she’s an anti-vaxxer.”
Following the remark, M.I.A. then recalled the time her son was vaccinated before school, stating it was “the hardest thing”.
She wrote: ‘Yeah in America they made me vaccinate my child before the school admission. It was the hardest thing.
“To not have choice over this as a mother. I never wanna feel that again. He was so sick for 3 weeks then Docs had to pump him with antibiotics to reduce the fever from 3 vaxins.”
She lamented the decision her child had no choice in the matter, writing: “As an adult you have choice! By then you’ve built your immune system. You have a choice as an ‘adult’ wishing you all good health.
M.IA. later stressed that people “are fine” and shouldn’t be pressuring the medical organisations during the global pandemic.
“Don’t panic you are ok,” she added “You are not gonna die. You can make it without stressing the medical systems. Just breathe. You are going to be ok. You can make it through without jumping in the frying pan. You are fine. All the vaccines you ve already had is enough to see you through.”
