Prince William 'reached out' to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry after ITV doc

Prince William is reported to have reached out to his brother Prince Harry and Meghan Markle following their ITV documentary which aired in October 2019.

A royal aide reportedly made the claim to biographer Katie Nicholl, who has written numerous books about the Royal Family.

She claims that the unidentified aide revealed that Prince William reached out to Harry and Meghan after their show, An African Journey, was shown on television.

The writer, reporting the aide’s claims, scribed in The Sunday Times: “It was then when the family reached out and said, ‘OK how can we help?’

“William was the first to get on the phone.”

The documentary saw both Harry and Meghan speak of the difficulties they had faced since going public with their romance and subsequent marriage.

They discussed the media attention they received while on their 10-day tour to Africa.

Harry and Meghan spoke separately to ITV’s Tom Brady.

Prince Harry spoke of how his life had been affected by his mother Princess Diana’s death and how the paparazzi still remind him of the incident.

He described it as “a wound that festers”.

Harry said: “Every single time I see a camera, every single time I hear a click, every single time I see a flash, it takes me straight back.

“So in that respect it’s the worst reminder of her life, as opposed to the best.

“Being here now 22 years later, trying to finish what she started, it will be incredibly emotional.”

Meanwhile, Meghan spoke of her relationship with the press and the effects it has on her wellbeing.

She said: “I would say…look any woman, especially when they are pregnant, you are really vulnerable and so that was made really challenging.

“And then when you have a newborn, you know?

“And especially as a woman it’s really, it’s really a lot.”
