Rupert Grint's pregnant girlfriend Georgia Groome displays blossoming baby bump

Rupert Grint and girlfriend Georgia Groome are expecting their first child.

The 31-year-old actor, best known for playing Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter franchise, shared the happy news this evening.

A representative for the couple said: “Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome are excited to announce they are expecting a baby and would please ask for privacy at this time.”

Rupert and actress Georgia, 28, have been together since 2011.

The couple were spotted hitting the shops near their North London home during the coronavirus lockdown.

Actress Georgia hid her baby bump underneath a baggy black t-shirt that she wore with some leggings.

Rupert donned a navy jacket and a khaki baseball cap and carried the shopping after their visit to Whole Foods.

It remains unknown how far along in her pregnancy Georgia is, but their baby news was confirmed on Friday evening.

Rupert and Georgia sparked marriage rumours last year when the were spotted wearing what looked like matching wedding rings.

Fans were covinced they’d tied the knot but a spokesperson denied they’d tied the knot.

After turning 30, child star Rupert had opened up not his hopes to begin a family with Georgia.

He said: “Turning 30 felt strange. It just doesn’t feel like I’m there yet and I don’t know what the future holds.

“I’d like to settle down and have kids soon. If I had a son, would I call him Ron?

“It’s quite a good name, but probably not. And Grint’s a tough name to pair a one-syllable first name with.”

As well as starring in Harry Potter, Rupert has appeared in Sky One comedy Sick Note, crime drama Snatch and Agatha Christie adaption The ABC Murders.

Georgia is best known for her roles in 2006 crime drama London To Brighton and 2008 romantic comedy Angus, Thongs And Perfect Snogging.
