BBC’s The One Show was back on our screens this evening and host Alex Jones was joined by guest presenter Rylan Clark-Neal.
Former Coronation Street star Nigel Havers joined the dynamic duo in the studio for a chat during Thursday’s live show.
Before starting his interview with Alex and Rylan, the actor said: “I’m just trying to work out how to stand on this strange chair.”
Crossing his legs, a clearly uncomfortable Nigel, 68, asked: “Do I sit like that?”
Welsh beauty Alex, 43, said: “Yeah don’t worry.
“Just don’t fall backwards Nigel, that would be terrible.”
Viewers rushed to Twitter to discuss Nigel’s awkward appearance on tonights instalment of The One Show.
Taking to Twitter, one BBC viewer penned: “Why can’t the guests have a better chair to sit on, they look so awkward.”
A second moaned: “Seriously The One Show Get your guests better seats or have one of your presenters sit on the rubbish chair with no back. It’s just insulting.”
Another added: “No need for two presenters really. The guests could then sit on the opposite sofa.”
Former professional footballer Peter Crouch was also a guest on The One Show this evening.
The sporting hero chatted to Alex and Rylan about his new BBC show Save Our Summer.
Peter is livening up Saturday nights with a brand new entertainment show that promises to fill the void left by a lack of sport and music due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The BBC has described Peter Crouch: Save Our Summer as “a one-stop shop of summery entertainment” that aims to give “the British public a little bit of all the big summer events that have been taken away”.
The new show is a variety entertainment show fronted by the England striker, Maya Jama and Alex Horne, which will include live music, sports action, comedy skits and celebrity guests – all largely achieved through video links, although the three main presenters will be broadcasting responsibly from a studio.
Peter, 39, has also been out and about filming stunts he would never have been allowed to do during his footballing career for risk of injury, like skydiving.
Abbey Clancy’s hubby told Alex and Rylan that his new show was originally intended to be a post-match series for Euro 2020 but it has since been transformed into a wider entertainment show.
The One Show airs weekdays on BBC at 7pm
