Tiger King Carole Baskin's ex-hubby was 'murdered and dropped from plane'

Claims have surfaced surrounding Netflix Tiger King star Carole Baskin’s second husband’s death.

Don Lewis mysteriously disappeared in 1997, after reportedly heading to Costa Rica and never returning – his body was never found and he was legally pronounced dead in 2002.

His lawyer has since come forward with claims, stating he believes the businessman was strangled and tossed from a plane.

Joseph Fritz claimed there was a case of foul play involved in Don’s unexplained death 23 years ago.

During an interview on the Fox Nation series A Tiger King Investigation, in his opinion: “There’s no question that he was murdered.”

“What I had heard was that he was strangled from the back seat of an aeroplane over the Gulf [of Mexico] at 50 feet and dropped out over the Gulf,” he explained.

He did not know who committed the crime that he suspects occurred.

“He loved those cats. He never would have just walked away from them. Ever.

“He was proud of those cats. He loved his cats. Some force made him leave.”

During Netflix’s Tiger King, the Big Cats Rescue founder opened up about her relationship with her former spouse, revealing they met each other while they were both still married to their partners.

He divorced his wife for Carole, and the new couple went on to open an exotic animal habitat in Florida’s Hillsborough County.

In the documentary, Carole explained she reported Don missing when his car was found abandoned in the parking lot of a small airport.

She later claimed her husband was showing signs of “mental deterioration” before his disappearance.

And Joseph explained he has come up with a theory that his client used a private airport on the thinking he was investing in another plane.

“Don Lewis, he was terribly cheap while he was very wealthy,” Joseph said, “He was cheap beyond belief.

“What would have lured him more than anything else is a good deal on an aeroplane.

“So that’s what I assume happened, that he got lured up to the Pilot Country Estates [an airport in Florida] to look at an aeroplane.”
