Tom Hanks has taken to social media to update worried fans after himself and wife Rita Wilson tested positive for coronavirus.
The US actor says they still have “the same symptoms”, one week after testing positive for COVID-19.
The Forest Gump actor and Rita Wilson have now both left the Australian hospital and are now under strict quarantine in a rental home on the Gold Coast.
Addressing fan’s, friends and loved ones, the 63-year-old wrote: “Hey folks. Good news: One week after testing positive, self isolation, the symptoms are much the same.
Reassuring his concerned following that it was pretty much business as usual, he penned: “No fever but the blahs. Folding laundry and doing the dishes leads to a nap on the coach.

Adding some light humour, he said: “The bad news: My wife Rita Wilson has won six hands of Gin Rummy and leads by 201 points.”
Alongside the post, Hanks shared a snap of typewriter that he had brought with him on the trip across the globe.
Rather ironically, the brand of typewriter was “Corona” that he had taken with him to Australia.
In an earlier post thanking helpers, Tom shared a snap of his recovery snack which showcased two slices of toast caked in Vegemite spread, water and a Kangaroo holding the Australian flag.
Despite receiving lots of well wishes, Tom also received criticism for the lashings of spread on his toast.
Telling fans he’d taken their feedback on-board he added: “But I’ve learnt not to spread my Vegemite so thick.”

Tom and Rita began their trip down under in late January, with Hanks to begin filming for an Elvis Presley biopic, directed by Baz Lurhmann.
In the film, Tom was cast as Colonel Tom Park – Elvis’ manager which was due for release in October 2021.
However, the Warner Bros. production has now been suspended due to the pandemic which could mean delays with the original release date.
Rita and Tom were among the first celebrities to confirm that they had tested positive for coronavirus.
Since then, an array of celebrities including English actor Idris Elba, 47, have took to social media to verify positive test results for COVID-19.
