Adele admits divorce was 'biggest risk' and has Celine Dion's chewing gum on her wall

Adele has admitted the biggest risk she has ever taken was leaving her marriage to husband Simon Konecki after three years.

The superstar songstress, 33, opened up in a candid interview with Vogue Magazine about the high profile divorce and discussed how she’s found a calm mental space in Los Angeles

She made the revelation during a tell all 73 question-and-answer session with the powerhouse fashion magazine a week after she released her first single in six years.

Adele, whose highly anticipated fourth album is soon set for release, gave Joe Sabia a peek into her lavish Los Angeles pad as the star shared a rare look into her personal life.

The Tottenham-born star remained mostly tight-lipped about her unreleased work, but did admit she “cries a lot” during her new songs, which she admits contain her “favourite lyrics yet.”

Speaking of her upcoming album, she said: “It’s definitely my most personal one yet.”

When asked when she would like to go on tour, Adele replied: “As soon as possible, I’m ready to go! It’s all up to COVID so keep wearing your mask and don’t be spreading that Delta and who knows!”

The songwriter, who shares a son Angelo James, 9, with ex-husband Simon Konecki, also dwelled on parenthood, her upcoming tour and being a “mess” when she was in her 20s

The Pavements singer also spoke about being a “hot drunk mess” at 21 and that she finds living in Los Angeles “very calming”.

She said she would love to go back in time and advise her 19-year-old self that her love life “would get a lot worse”, and admits she was “drunk, chaotic, stressed, and very sad’ in her early 20s.

The songwriter, who shares a son Angelo James, nine, with ex husband Simon Konecki, also dwelled on parenthood, revealing that Remedy was the ‘easiest song to write’ because it was all about her only child.

Adele almost shared some fun facts during the Q&A, revealing that the British supermarket she most pines for is Marks & Spencer and how she was surprised her sarcastic humour didn’t travel well in America.

She also revealed that her most prized possession is a piece of Celine Dion’s gum – which good pal James Cordon framed for her after she appeared on his famous Carpool Karaoke.

Towards the end of the Q&A, Adele revealed her top three favourite songs.

Someone Like You was placed first, a new song in second and When We Were Young snatched third position: ‘It means a lot to me,’ she said.
