On Monday morning’s episode of BBC Breakfast, presenter Dan Walker told weather lady Carol Kirkwood to “go sort her cough out” after she suffered from a tickly cough while presenting.
Wheezy Carol, 58, usually presents the weather on BBC seamlessly but on Monday she experienced a tickle in her throat that was noticed by her colleagues Dan and Louise Minchin.
Once Carol had finished presenting the weather, broadcaster Dan chimed: “Thanks for that Carol. Go sort that tickly cough out, I think you need a big brew.”
An embarrassed Carol responded: “Yeah that sounds good.”
Earlier in the programme, Dan seemed to tease the weather lady once she had completed her forecast report with an old-fashioned saying.
When she finished presenting her segment, the meteorologist said: “If you’re wondering about getting your plants outside, well this week it does look like it’s going to be frost-free.
“That doesn’t guarantee of course that next week will be and you know the old saying ‘Never cast a clout till may is out’.
“Some people think it’s the May blossom other people think it’s your clothing, so take your pick Dan and Lou.”
Louise replied: “Well no I don’t know that old saying but now I do Carol. Thank you very much.”
Dan chimed: “Requires a Scottish accent I think as well.”
Recently BBC presenter Dan admitted he found himself in the doghouse following his date night with his wife Sarah over the weekend.
The 44-year-old told his fans on social media that his wife has now banned him from suggesting films for them to watch for the next six months.
Broadcaster Dan confessed to choosing the movie Tenet for him and his wife to enjoy, however to their disappointment, it was to neither of their likings.
Taking to social media, the star wrote: “Just watched #Tenet with Mrs Walker… or at least we think we did!” he wrote. “I have no idea what it was about.”
“My wife has banned me from making film suggestions for at least 6 months.”
