Ben Shephard was flabbergasted during tonight’s episode of Tipping Point as a player named Amy saw her final turn ended in disaster.
Andy, Susan, Jerry and Amy all took part tonight as they all hoped to win mega money on the ITV game show.
It was just Andy and Amy left as they battled it out to hopefully make it to the final.
Amy was playing her final counter, so she had one last chance to get through.
In a show rarity, Amy performed a ‘kamikaze drop’ and her counter tumbled directly on top of numerous other coins, meaning it failed to push any over the edge.
Ben exclaimed: “Oh no! It’s riding! Your last drop is a kamikaze drop.”
Amy was gutted as she said: “Oh for goodness sake”.
Ben remarked that Amy’s final turn “sort of summed up the game” as the machine hadn’t given up its counters easily during the episode.
Andy was the lucky player to make it through to the last round and he performed brilliantly.
He was hoping to win the incredible £10,000 jackpot and gave himself a good chance with his knowledge and luck when it came to the machine.
The player managed to get the jackpot counter right to the edge of the Tipping Point before bravely taking the trade.
Incredibly, Andy then retrieved the counter and won the life-changing amount of money.
The overwhelmed player exclaimed: “Amazing! I’m speechless. Amazing.”
Viewers went into meltdown on Twitter, thrilled for the contestant.
One said: “Screaming at the tele for Andy on @TippingPointITV well done mate!”
While another wrote: “You f***ing hero Andy”.
A third added: “Andy’s done it!”
“F*** yes!!!!”, typed another.
Tipping Point airs weekdays at 4pm on ITV.
