GB News viewers were left divided as the show came on air for its debut morning show, called the Great British Breakfast, with Kirsty Gallacher, Dean McCaffrey and Nana Akua hosting.
As the presenters got stuck into the biggest news stories of the day, fans took to social media to complain that the studio’s colour scheme was too dark.
One said: “Gb you need to put studio lights on otherwise very good.”
Another added: “Love GBNews but please brighten up studio. Too dark, black desk and black backdrop too dark.”
A third said: “The set design and lighting is just too dark and gloomy.”

A fourth agreed: “@GBNEWS watching gb news. I really wish the channel good luck. Just something if I may say, the studio layout needs changing because it’s too cluttered and dark.”
A fifth told them: “Good morning @GBNEWS – as others have said (some bluntly), sound and lighting need tweaking (too quiet, ‘echoy’, and too dark) – other than that, a welcome addition to the news offering. Thank you.”
The show launched its first episode on Sunday night, with TV stalwart Andrew Neil introducing the new channel with an impassioned speech about what the station stands for.
He said: “We are proud to be British – the clue is in the name.
“While we will never hold back hold back from covering our countries many flaws and problems, we will not come at every story with the conviction that Britain is always at fault, usually to blame when things go wrong. Generally useless.”

In what appeared to be a dig at the BBC, which stands for British Broadcasting Corporation, he said: “We won’t forget what the B stands for in our title.”
He continued: “We will cover the good news as well as the bad. Because, even in grim times there is much and great and uplifting to report and celebrate about our country.
“We will entourage debate and conversation to include voices you don’t hear on other news broadcast.”
The former BBC presenter added: “We want civilised discourse, not shouting matches.
“We won’t dwell on the gossip on the Westminster bubble which is too often obsessed about matters of no importance to anybody else.”
