Steve Allen seemingly compared TOWIE star Gemma Collins to Star Wars monster Jabba the Hutt in scathing tweets before calling Tilly Ramsay “chubby”.
During his LBC radio show earlier this week, the 67-year-old DJ deemed the Strictly Come Dancing star “a chubby little thing”, leading the 19-year-old influencer to post a critical response to Instagram.
Following more backlash from stars including Scarlett Moffatt, Harry Potter actress Evanna Lynch and Tom Fletcher, unearthed tweets from Steve’s official Twitter account have revealed he also criticised infamous Celebrity Big Brother contestant Gemma several times in the past.
As well as calling her “fat and boring”, Steve also referred to the 40-year-old entrepreneur as “Gemma the Hut” on more than one occasion.
In a 2014 tweet, Steve wrote: “Poor poor Gemma, fat and boring, no friends apart from Bobby, known as little Ms misery.
“It’s all going pear shaped, and how we laugh.”
In 2015, he followed up with: “Apparently Gemma the hut does have a shop in Brentwood very near the Slug and Lettuce, insert own joke here.”
He later wrote in 2016: “And now Gemma the Hut thinks she might be pregnant…. Ha ha ha what do you mean love, you think? Unprotected sex.”
Tilly has received a wave of support in wake of Steve’s comments about her.
Posting a statement to Twitter, she wrote: “It’s such a shame that someone is trying to make such a positive experience negative.”
She added: “Please remember that words can hurt and at the end of the day, I am only 19.”
Of Tilly, Steve said: “Tilly Ramsay is on Celebrity MasterChef Australia, is she? Well she can’t blooming well dance, I’m bored with her already.
“She’s a chubby little thing, isn’t she? Have you noticed? Probably her dad’s cooking I should imagine.”
Scarlett Moffatt has since called the comments “disgusting”, while Evanna Lynch referred to the comments as “reductive”.
