Good Morning Britain faced a slight blunder which led to host Susanna Reid telling co-host Adil Ray the mistake was “awkward”.
It comes as Adil, who has joined Susanna Reid on the ITV show while Richard Madeley is in I’m A Celeb, prepared to hand over the next segment to Charlotte Hawkins – but far too early.
The duo had just finished talking about a segment regarding Benny Hill returning to TV which saw the guests become fiery with one another, and as it came to a close, the pair quickly tried to move on.
Susanna had attempted to rush the guests off after they began talking over one another, which then saw Adil take over to move onto the next segment on time.
He told viewers that Charlotte was coming up next, which immediately caused confusion within the studio.
Susanna quickly brought it back to remind him that they were still on until after the break.
Adil said: “Good morning, here’s Charlotte with all your news,” before adding: “Oh sorry!”
Susanna said: “Ooh actually, it’s us!”
Adil apologised to Charlotte as she looked over and nodded at the camera.
Susanna said: “Charlotte would you like to do it?,” which saw her respond: “No it’s fine. No, you go. I’m standing by, I have the rest of the news to do after you two have done the top stories. So you take it away.”
Susanna subtly added: “Awkward.”
Luckily, the duo erupted into laughter as the awkward moment came to light.
The pair soon moved over to the news and continued working as usual – with a new segment seeing the presenters discuss whether there is a maximum age to be able to have a dog.
Adil welcomed Pip Tomson’s dog into the studio as they discussed the possibility of capping the age of having a dog with two guests appearing on the show to talk about the reality.
One guest had said that having a dog when you’re elderly is “selfish”, while the other stated that it isn’t selfish and people need to make responsible decisions.
It seems the hosts agreed as they shared their support for avoiding the cap on age for owning a pooch.
