Gogglebox star Tom Malone has confirmed that he will not be appearing on the Channel 4 show as he shared a statement on his Instagram page.
He wrote: “So after six years it’s finally time to put down the remote and say goodbye to Gogglebox.
“I’ve loved every minute and I’m eternally grateful to Channel 4 and Studio Lambert for allowing me to be a part of the show.
“But new opportunities are knocking on the door and it’s time to explore them.
“I look forward to enjoying the show as a viewer and not having to worry about having said something stupid!”

He also reassured fans: “P.S. Don’t worry my parents and my brother will still be on the show to keep you guys entertained every Friday.”

In December last year Daily Star broke the news that Tom was open to living the show after moving out of his family home and in with his girlfriend.
Tom explained how even if he or another family member bowed out of the series the family as a whole could continue.
Tom said: “If the opportunity was good enough then yeah 100% we [one of the family] would leave but I think the rest of us would be able to stay on Gogglebox.”
Admitting his girlfriend Bryony was barred from joining him and his family on the sofa, he added: “Because of contracts and stuff, unfortunately, you won’t see my girlfriend on the show, but yeah we do forget we are filming.”
Since appearing on Gogglebox Tom has managed to build up a strong fan base thanks to his booming profile on video app TikTok.
The star currently has over 700,000 followers and has bagged 9.6 million thanks to his lighthearted clips.

He often let his mum and dad appear in the clips much to his fans’ delight.
However, Daily Star revealed how bosses at Channel 4 were concerned he was becoming too much of a star.
Producers were concerned that should a Gogglebox regular becoming a s celebs it would ruin the normality of the show.
Reading out a question from a fan on a now deleted Instagram live, Tom said: “Will you do anymore TikToks dancing with your dad, I love them ?
He bluntly added: “No, Googlebox won’t let me anymore.”
