Line of Duty fans fuming after spotting 'H exposed' finale gaffe on Lorraine

Frustrated Line of Duty fans have slammed the Lorraine show after its entertainment reporter Ria Hebden wrongly teased Sunday’s final episode will be a “90-minute special”.

The hit BBC anti-corruption police show will conclude this weekend in its seventh episode of a gripping series.

But Ria fluffed her own lines, because the show will in fact only be 60 minutes long – leaving fans gutted they weren’t going to be treated to an extra half an hour.

“Now look, Sunday night, everything stops, Line of Duty,” enthused Lorraine, talking to Ria as the pair previewed the eagerly-anticipated climax to proceedings.

“I know it’s the final [episode] after six weeks,” replied an excited Ria.

“We’ve absolutely loved this series, haven’t we? And on Sunday there’s a 90-minute special. Yes, 90 minutes and we finally to get to see who H is?”

Entertainment reporter Ria was criticised for her mistake

But Ria was unfortunately wrong and disgruntled fans of the show criticised her on social media for her mistake.

One disappointed fan posted on Twitter: “TV expert? NOT a 90 minute special.

“We get an extra episode this series but not a 90 minute special.”

A view echoed by another avid viewer of the smash AC-12 drama, who was quick to stress: “Love how they said it’s a 90 minute special of LOD when it’s only 60.”

“Says it’s the usual 60 minutes on the sky planner,” argued another.

Line of Duty fans were quick to pick up on the scheduling blunder

A short clip teasing the final LOD episode was then played before Lorraine and Ria discussed the grandstand finish.

Fans are desperate to discover the identity of the mysterious H – and Lorraine, herself, revealed she would be devastated if it turned out to be AC-12 chief Ted Hastings all along.

“I hope we do find out,” reacted Lorraine on the ITV morning show, after watching the action-packed final trailer.

“Now, we’re all speculating who H could be,” added Ria. “So let’s see who the bookies think H could be.

Lorraine and Ria discuss the suspects for who the mysterious H is

“Number one, the top suspect is Patricia Carmichael.”

Lorraine added: “She is so awful.”

Lorraine and Ria analysed suspect Phillip Osbourne, before turning their attention to Ted.

“I’m not having it,” quipped Lorraine.

“I’m sorry we’re in the middle of the pandemic. If it’s Ted that’ll be the final straw.

“If it’s Ted, that’s it, finished. It can’t be, I’ll never speak to anyone again.”

And finally, presenter Lorraine revealed she thinks H is instead Marcus Thurlwell (James Nesbitt).

“I think it has to be James Nesbitt. He’s been a still and that’s all,” Lorraine explained.

“We never saw him close up, he could be alive. Would you hire a really famous person and just not have him [on the show]?”
