Line of Duty viewers were left stumped on Sunday night after a continuity error had DS Steve Arnott’s (Martin Compston) hair changing colour between scenes.
Steve’s hair appeared to leapfrog between chestnut brown and mahogany as the episode progressed.
And fans flocked to Twitter to share their confusion.
“Nope, I’m not imagining things. Steve’s hair keeps changing colour between scenes. From chestnut to mahogany #LineOfDuty”, one viewer wrote.
Another said: “My mum cannot concentrate on the plot of #LineOfDuty because Steve’s hair keeps changing styles during the same scenes.”

And one shared: “Poor Steve Arnott’s hair dye dependence is out of control #LineOfDuty”.
That was in reference to Steve’s ongoing painkiller addiction to cope with his back pain after being flung down a set of steps.
During Sunday night’s episode, Steve arrived at the house of John Corbett’s wife Steph and winced as she invited him to take a seat.
He insisted: “It’s just a spasm, it’ll pass.”

She asked if he was sure, and Steve informed her: “I’ve got some painkillers in the car.”
And as Steph went to retrieve the pills, she was obviously surprised at the amount he had stowed away in the glove compartment.
Throughout the episode, Steve could be seen popping pills.
He desperately swallowed the tablets Steph provided.

Viewers were also thrilled to finally hear Steve say: “He died in the line of duty” in a reference to the show’s title.
One wrote on Twitter: “Surely they’re not allowed to say ‘bent coppers’ and ‘line of duty’ in the same episode.”
Another penned: “Bent Coppers, Reg 15 and Line of Duty all busted out in 5 minutes. We are cooking on diesel.”
And many fans simply shared the Pointing Leonardo DiCaprio meme in recognition of the reference.

Fans were similarly excited to hear the CHIS acronym reappear in this week’s episode after making a series debut last week.
The show is notorious for leaving viewers baffled by its police acronyms.
Adrian Dunbar recently opened up to say that he’d love to do more stunts on the show.
The 62-year-old, who plays AC-12 boss Ted Hastings, said: “I do like things that are a bit reckless, so long as the people around me are professionals. Stuntmen will see you through anything.
