Little Mix forced to pay Jesy Nelson £3million following exit from girl band

Little Mix had to pay former member Jesy Nelson over £3million when she quit the band.

Jesy hit the headlines when she decided to quit the iconic girl group earlier this year citing mental health as her reason for going solo.

The 30-year-old managed to receive a good exit deal when she left the group, but details of her buy-out have only just come to light.

Her former bandmates Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock were forced to buy out Jesy. Documents filed at Companies House on Wednesday report the trio gave their ex-bandmate £1,901,304 for the company that handles Little Mix ‘s touring money, Eternal Magic Touring.

Jesy also received £1,201,390 from Eternal Dance Media, the company which handle Little Mix’s music and advertising details.

Before Jesy was paid off on her departure from Little Mix, the two companies held over £12million in total with over £4million in Eternal Dance Media.

Her fellow bandmates bought her out on July 28 this year, and Jesy is now set to release her own solo debut.

Jesy decided to leave the band for her mental health and has since gone on to sign a solo record deal

Jesy ‘s latest single features rapper and singer Nicki Minaj on the track Boyz. The record comes after Jesy signed a deal with Polydor Records earlier this year.

However, it has not been an easy journey for Jesy since the band split. She was most recently accused of ‘Blackfishing’ following the release of the music video for Boyz.

Nicki Minaj later dismissed these claims in a savage rant on a livestream. However, Jesy faced even more backlash when she was seen giggling in the background when the rapper called Little Mix’s Leigh-Anne a “jealous clown.”

Jesy had a difficult journey to fame and suffered with her mental health following her instant rise to fame.

Jesy announced her departure from the band last year. At the time, Little Mix wrote: “This is an incredibly sad time for all of us but we are fully supportive of Jesy.

“We love her very much and agree that it is so important that she does what is right for her mental health and well-being.”
