The biggest girl band in the world is about to celebrate ten years of being together, but during its ninth year of reigning the pop charts, Little Mix suffered a bit of a shakeup.
In December 2020, the girls lost a member of their quartet, Jesy Nelson, as she left the glorious girl group after feeling like she was under “too much pressure”.
But as the three remaining members Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards gear up to celebrate ten years of global success there may be a slight hiccup in the road.
At this monumental time, the girls are set to release some new music to mark the anniversary, but during the same time period, now solo Jesy Nelson is due to launch her new sound.
This will result in the girls going head-to-head in a chart battle, whether they like it or not.
The stunning trio are set to announce a new project, including at least one previously unheard song, for later in the year.
Leigh-Anne recently teased some potential lyrics of their on social media and said: “We walked through the fire and as the flames got higher, it made us survivors, yeah, it made us fighters.”
Little Mix stans believe the song could be part of a greatest hits album.
In Jesy’s world, she is prepping to drop her debut solo single next month, with an exciting album to follow suit.
It is rumoured that the three remaining members have not spoken to Jesy since she announced her shock departure last year — which she apparently did without consulting them.
A music insider told The Sun: “Little Mix have had big plans for their tenth anniversary for a long time.
“They started those discussions while Jesy was still in the group. Plans did change after they delayed their tour and Perrie and Leigh-Anne got pregnant. But a celebration of their music feels like the perfect way to mark the occasion.
“It is unfortunate and quite awkward for them all that it will be coming out around the same time as Jesy’s music. But there is nothing they can do, really.
“They won’t change their plans just to avoid her. They are going to make the most of their incredible decade of achievements.”
All four lovely ladies have worked non-stop over the past decade, so fingers crossed the clash doesn’t take their achievements away from any of them.
