Mick Norcross admitted to 'struggling with emotion' in poignant unearthed video

Mick Norcross once confided in son Kirk and told him how he really struggled to show his emotions.

He also revealed he wished he had been more present when Kirk was growing up.

The dad had a heart-to-heart with his son back in 2012, in a video unearthed from the TOWIE archives.

Mick, the former owner of the trendy club the Sugar Hut, was found dead in January at his Essex home.

On the first day of the inquest into his death, it was told how the 57-year-old was found hanged in his basement.

In his final tweet, the dad wrote: “At the end remind yourself that you did the best you could. And that is good enough.”

Now, an old clip from the reality show – which was posted on the official TOWIE YouTube channel nine years ago – saw Mick talk openly with his son Kirk.

He told him that he regrets not being a bigger part of his life while he was younger.

He said: “I wasn’t there enough for you growing up.

“But all I want to say to you is that I’m here for you now and I will be here for you. I want to do the things that we didn’t do that we still can do.”

He then added: “I’m quite a hard person and it’s difficult for me to show my emotions and I’m not just making an excuse, it is difficult for me.

“And it doesn’t mean that I don’t love you and I don’t want you to be around me and all that, I just put this hard exterior on sometimes.”

Kirk then told him: “I know you do.”

Mick then explained: “With me, whatever you think, you know you might think I’m out having a great time and all that, but every night I come home to this house on my own, live on my own and there’s nothing, it’s empty.”

A post mortem examination on January 26 found the medical cause of death to be suspension by ligature.
