According to reports the superstar’s home was broken into after the intruder jumped over the balcony from apartment next door after following a resident into the main complex.
A source told Mail Online: “He came out onto that [next door’s] property’s balcony, jumped over the wall onto Niall’s balcony and then entered into his apartment through the French doors.
“Niall wasn’t at home at the time but one of his assistants was and saw the man walk through the apartment to the foyer outside.
“She managed to keep the intruder talking until security were called.”
The police were said to have attended the incident and arrested the man – who was later released.
“He returned to the apartment building the following day but he’d been caught on CCTV and his picture had been circulated around staff working in the apartment building.
“The security noticed him on the cameras and picked him up pretty promptly and he was arrested for a second time.”
In a statement, Met Police said: “The suspect was charged by postal requisition on 7 August, 2020 for burglary with intent to steal.
“He will appear at Kingston Crown Court on Monday, 5 July.”
A rep for Niall Horan has been contacted by Daily Star for comment.
Taking to Twitter on Wednesday evening, Niall joked he had been snubbed by the BRIT Awards after he failed to pick up a single notation.
His second album Heartbreak Weather was eligible for this year’s event.
Posting to his army of 41.2 million followers, Niall wrote: “Snubbed” followed by a thumbs up and laughing emoji.
The Black and White singer later added: “I’m joking.”
Showing support for his 1D bandmate Harry Styles who picked up a notation for Best British Single with Watermelon Sugar, Niall went on to Retweet the list of nominees.
Harry became the first One Direction member to bag a Grammy Award earlier this year.
The X Factor star turned global icon won Best Pop Solo Performance for Watermelon Sugar.
He beat off competition from Justin Bieber, Dua Lipa and Taylor Swift.
Speaking on stage at the stripped back outdoor ceremony, Harry said: “Wow, to everyone who made this record with me thank you so much.
“The was the first song we wrote after my first album came out during a day off in Nashville.
“I feel very grateful to be here. All these songs are f****** massive.”
