Piers Morgan hints at comeback as Dragons' Den star says he 'misses him on TV'

Piers Morgan may have left Good Morning Britain, but the controversial ex-presenter has hinted a return to the small screen could be on the horizon.

The TV personality, 55, engaged with his friend, Dragons’ Den star Duncan Bannatyne, on Twitter this week, discussing his plans for the future.

Millionaire Duncan, who has invested in health clubs, TV, property and more, reached out to Piers over social media after his GMB exit.

He said: “Good day Piers. I hope you are going to keep up your great work holding governments to account. Missing you on TV.”

In his response, Piers suggested it wouldn’t be long before he was back on the screen, saying: “Thanks Duncan, I appreciate that. I’ll definitely keep holding Govt to account, don’t worry.”

Piers quit Good Morning Britain on March 9 after his treatment of Meghan Markle was met by a considerable backlash from viewers.

The Duchess of Sussex issued a formal complaint to ITV about his coverage of her interview with Oprah Winfrey, in particular, finding issue with remarks he made concerning her mental health.

In the interview, Meghan revealed her mental health has suffered in recent years, to the point where she contemplated suicide.

Reacting to the revelation on March 8, Piers said: “Who did you go to? What did they say to you? I’m sorry, I don’t believe a word she says, Meghan Markle.”

The following day, his colleague Alex Beresford confronted him about his treatment of Meghan, only for Piers to temporarily storm off the set, and quit the show hours later.

Since Piers left GMB, it has been claimed he is at the centre of a bidding war between networks, with GB News and US broadcasters competing to hire him.

GB News boss Andrew Neil even offered Piers a job live on air, hoping to poach him for the forthcoming British television news channel.

A TV source told the Mirror: “He has had millions of pounds worth of offers. He turned GMB into a ratings hit, it seems everything he touches turns to gold.

“People love his honesty, even the people that don’t like him, they can’t help but be interested in what he says.

“Some of the offers have hit the £10million mark, and it seems he may be able to land exactly what he wants.”
