Sarah Harding 'planned music comeback' before being told she had breast cancer

Sarah Harding had plans to make a huge music comeback before she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

The former Girls Aloud singer had reportedly decided to move into blues music and was hoping to release an album dedicated to the genre.

The 39-year-old had been practising her vocal skills and even took up guitar playing lessons in order to be seen as more of a “raw artist”.

A source claimed she was so determined to reach her goal that she practised playing the guitar so much that her fingers bled.

The insider told The Sun that Sarah had been planning to ‘revamp’ her image from that of Girls Aloud before her career was tragically stalled by cancer.

They said: “Sarah really wanted to revamp herself as an altogether different kind of artist to her Girls Aloud days.

“She was on a journey to find herself musically and rebrand as a blues artist, as that’s where her passion is.

“She was playing guitar all night until her fingers bled and watching videos of her favourite performers in order to perfect her sound.

“Her health issues meant she didn’t get a chance to lay down any tracks, but there’s hope she will eventually be well enough to put out the kind of music she loves.”

The source added that Sarah was looking forward to “being in the driving seat” and having control over her music after “feeling she didn’t have free rein” while a member of a girl band.

The singer was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer last year and had said that she did not know how many more months she had to live.

Last month Sarah released a never-before-heard song, Wear It Like A Crown, after rediscovering the track while writing her autobiography Hear Me Out.

The song skyrocketed to number one on the charts after being released and Sarah announced all profits would be donated to The Christie NHS Foundation, where Sarah, herself, received treatment from last year.
