Holly Willoughby floored fans on Saturday night when she revealed that she was related to EastEnders icon Tamzin Outhwaite.
The This Morning host failed to recognise her husband’s cousin dressed as a Scarecrow on The Masked Dancer over the weekend.
Holly admitted that she’s even witnessed Tamzin strut her stuff on family occasions, including Boxing Day parties.
Most of the time it’s obvious which celebrities are related to each other as they share a surname.
However, there are famous family members who keep their connections a little more quiet.
Daily Star has put together a sampling of stars who are relatives by birth or marriage – and there’s even a Royal on the list.
Holly Willoughby and Tamzin Outhwaite
Holly Willoughby was left red-faced on Saturday night as Tamzin Outhwaite was unveiled as Scarecrow on The Masked Dancer.
The This Morning star appeared on the wacky ITV guessing show as special guest and couldn’t believe that she didn’t work out it was a member of her own family and clapped her hands over her face in disbelief.
Holly, 40, explained that she and Tamzin, 50, are cousins-in-law.
“My husband’s mum and Tam’s mum are sisters,” she said.
Tamzin is a blood relative of Holly’s TV producer husband Dan Baldwin.
Holly posted a picture of the pair of them together in 2017 and called Tamzin her cousin.
Tamzin and Holly’s kids had no idea that their mums were appearing in the popular series.
The former Mel Owen actress revealed: “It was my cousin’s birthday so the kids were all together, and then I watched it with my family in the evening and it was the side of the family that Holly and her husband Dan (Baldwin) are on, so the Italian side. So I didn’t know how much anyone knew.
“People had started trying to guess … My family, half of them thought I was the frog, and half of them didn’t know at all!
“And they all thought we were watching (the show) to see Holly on the panel, so yeah it was quite a moment.”
Rita Simons and Alan Sugar
Actress Rita Simmons is famed for playing feisty Roxy Mitchell in EastEnders.
Since her time on the BBC soap, the TV star has gone on to star in the reality show I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! and the movie The Krays: Dead Man Walking.
The Apprentice tycoon Alan Sugar is an uncle to Rita. The pair are not directly blood-related as Lord Sugar is married to Rita’s aunt, Ann Simons.
The soap star previously discussed her relationship with the blunt businessman, confirming how he is her uncle and describing how he is “much nicer in real life”.
She previously told The Mirror: “He’s still straight-talking, but he’s a lot kinder. He loves all his grandkids and loves family time.”
The actor described how she would occasionally go for dinner at Lord Sugar’s house, or to “their place in Marbella” for a summer holiday, but generally, their meetings were limited to “funerals, weddings, bar mitzvahs and awards ceremonies”.
Speaking before she entered the jungle in 2018 about whether or not he’d be watching her in I’m A Celeb, she said: “We’ve had to keep coming into the Jungle a secret and so no, I haven’t told my Uncle yet, but I bet you he will watch it!”

Lord Sugar even blamed himself for his niece’s early I’m A Celeb exit at the time.
He responded to Rita’s official account tweeting: “Hands up if you was this many years old when you found out @OfficialRita was the niece of Lord Alan Sugar #TeamRita #I’mACeleb.”
The businessman joked: “That is maybe why the public voted her out. It might be my fault,” as her tweet pointing out their relation was mentioned on the ITV show just hours before she was given the boot from camp.
Prince Charles and Ralph Fiennes
Harry Potter star Ralph Fieness, who played Lord Voldemort in the movie franchise, and Prince Charles are eighth cousins.
The pair are both descendants of King James II of Scotland, who reigned the 1400s.
It remains unclear where that puts Fieness in the line to someday be king himself, but he did perform an excerpt of Charles Dickens’ Bleak House in front of members of the Royal Family, including Prince Charles, in 2012 to mark the 200th anniversary of the novelist’s birth.
A household name in British film, Fiennes is also known for his roles in In Bruges, The Grand Budapest Hotel and the later James Bond films.
Prince Charles has recently become a grandfather for the fifth time following the arrival of Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor on June 4.
The bundle of joy is Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s second child and first daughter.
Meghan and Harry are already parents to two-year-old Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
Prince William and Kate Middleton have three children; George, seven, Charlotte, six and three-year-old Louis.
Laila Morse and Gary Oldman
EastEnders’ Big Mo actress Laila Morse has recently filmed her final scenes after appearing in the soap on and off since 2000.
Her real name is Maureen Oldman but she changed it to launch herself as an actress.
She was raised in South East London by a single mother who encouraged all of her three children to act.
Fans were recently left shocked to learn that Laila’s younger brother is Hollywood actor Gary Oldman.
TikTok user @martha_madden4 posted a video with the caption: “Two actors I refuse to believe that they are siblings.”
The comments section was flooded with responses, with one person writing: “Hold up what I literally had no idea.”
Another added: “No this is a lie I’m living in the matrix surely this cannot be true my whole world has been rocked.”
A third penned: “Legitimately had to Google it because I was shook.”
This was then followed by a series of snaps of Laila on Albert Square, and Gary as Harry Potter character Sirius Black.
Laila travels to LA to visit the Oscar winner and has shared photos of her stays in the States.
Their mum Kathleen passed away just months following Gary’s Oscar win for Darkest Hour.
Gary and Laila have another sister called Jackie.
Sophie and Pete Sandiford and Paul Chuckle
Gogglebox brother and sister duo Pete and Sophie Sandiford have won over viewers with their wit and charm over the years.
Fans of the Channel 4 show were gobsmacked when they learned that they were related to Chucklevision star Paul Chuckle.
Paul, 72, revealed to his Twitter followers that he is related to the Gogglebox pair in 2019.
The CBBC star was responding to speculation that he was related to Sophie and Pete.
When a fan asked him directly, he responded: “Most certainly are … proud to be Great Uncle Paul,” alongside a heart emoji.
That also makes Sophie and Pete the niece and nephew of the late Barry Chuckle.
When Paul’s older sibling and Chucklevision co-star Barry died in 2018, Sophie posted a tribute to him, and the siblings attended his funeral.
Pete and Sophie hail from Blackpool where they film their slots on Gogglebox.
They actually have two other siblings named Harry and Lucy.
Miley Cyrus and Dolly Parton
Country music icon Dolly Parton is Miley Cyrus’ godmother.
The 9to5 hitmaker opened up about their special bond in a 2019 interview with SiriusXM’s Just Jenny, explaining how she came to be the pop star’s godmother after working with her father, fellow country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, in the early 1990s.
“I worked with Billy Ray for all those years, when he had Achy Breaky Heart,” Dolly said.
“He worked with me on some shows we did in the early days. He opened some of my shows. We just got to know each other.
“I wrote a song called Romeo, and had him in a video. We just kind of gelled, ’cause we’re both country kids.
“We had a lot of fun just talking about that. And then when Miley came along, I said, ‘She’s got to be my fairy goddaughter.'”
Although Dolly has often acted as a mentor to the Grammy-nominated pop star, she says she prefers to lead by example rather than give advice.
Dolly has been there for Miley every step of the way. She even appeared on Miley’s Disney sitcom Hannah Montana as the character’s godmother, just like in real life.
The two singers have also performed together many times, most recently at the 2019 Grammy Awards.
As part of a tribute to Dolly during the show, Miley and Dolly teamed up for a stunning rendition of Jolene.
Dakota Johnson and Melanie Griffiths and Antonio Banderas
Fifty Shades of Grey actress Dakota Johnson is the daughter of actress Melanie Griffith and actor Don Johnson.
The marriage between Don and Melanie came to an end in the mid-1990s.
Don went on to date people like Barbara Streisand and Melanie married hunky Spanish actor Antonio Banderas.
Antonio married Dakota’s mother Melanie in 1995, several months before Dakota turned six years old.
He remained her stepfather for nearly 20 years, eventually divorcing her mother in 2015.
Nevertheless, he reportedly played an active role in raising Dakota and supporting her rising career during that time.
Both have publicly spoken about their familial love for one another.
Most recently, Banderas opened up to Us Weekly about their relationship, saying: “She’s my daughter, I love her. I’ve been with her on my shoulders, traveling all around the world.”
Dakota had the pleasure of presenting her former stepfather with a Hollywood Actor Award at the 2019 Hollywood Film Awards, during which she surprised him with a touching tribute about how much he meant to her.
She called him her “bonus dad” and credited him with bringing a “bright light” to her family.
Antonio and Melanie had a daughter, Stella, during their marriage, making Dakota a big sister.
