Former Strictly Come Dancing professional Kevin Clifton, 39, said ‘rules change all the time’ after Kai Widdrington and AJ Odudu cheating gate left viewers enraged.
During his podcast titled, The Kevin Clifton show, the professional dancer Kevin and his sister, Joanne Clifton, discussed the antics and drama from the show’s latest episode.
Dancing star Kevin said: “There’s something in me that’s telling me you’re not allowed to change the routine for the dance-off.”
Even Strictly veteran’s like Kevin seem dumbfounded with what the rules can be, as he adds: “You’re not allowed to change anything about the routine but I could be wrong.”
He adds: “For some reason, that rings a bell. I don’t know. Rules change all the time.”
Kevin’s comments were said after a recent Strictly cheating scandal involving contestant AJ Odudu and professional dancer Kai Widdrington.
Some viewers were enraged as the duo changed their routine in the dance-off against breakfast host Dan Walker and partner Nadiya Bychkova.
TV presenter, AJ, and dance partner, Kai, sent shockwaves on social media when their ambitious dance routine went epically wrong – the presenter founder wrapped awkwardly around dance partner Kai head during her salsa.
Taking to Twitter to voice their accusations, one fan wrote: “Did AJ & Kai change the last lift?? It looked different from last night”.
Another tweeted: “#StrictlyComeDancing on that dance off Dan was much better. It wasn’t fair that AJ changed the final lift!”
With the semi-finals looming, AJ and Kai will fight to remain in the competition and waltz to the final this weekend as they face John and Johannes, Rhys Stephenson and dancer Nancy Xu, and show favorites Rose Ayling-Ellis and dancer Giovanni Pernice.
Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday night at 7:05pm.
