Fans of The Chase weren’t best pleased with presenter Bradley Walsh on Thursday, as he seemed to use a contestant’s age as an excuse as to why she was unable to answer questions correctly.
Contestant Katie, 24, appeared fairly confident initially, but when she was put under pressure while being face with The Beast, she appeared to fold.
Viewers were not happy with Katie’s string of wrong answers and they complained that Bradley seemed to excuse it by saying she was “undone by her age”.
Taking to Twitter to air their views one fan chimed: “‘Undone by your age’. That’s no excuse for a poor level of general knowledge!”
Another penned: “Not undone by her age. Undone by her lack of general knowledge”.
A third said: “‘Before your time there, Katie’. Now Brad is encouraging the excuse.”
Though Katie did get a few questions wrong, she did manage to secure her place in the final round.
But despite the team’s great efforts, in the end, they were unable to beat the roaring force from The Beast, who managed to beat the team of three with seconds to spare.
Although The Beast thrashed the remaining contestants, some viewers felt his questions may have been a bit too easy.
Taking to Twitter again, one fan tweeted: “The Beast’s questions were way too easy!!! ‘What colour is a red fire engine?’ I mean c’mon..”
While another said: “What ! The questions for the Chaser were so easy . Unfair!”
A third viewer chimed: “Chaser questions p**s easy today.”
Mark Labbett, who is known to viewers as The Beast, hit headlines recently after he was pictured showing off his 10 stone weight loss.
Sharing a picture of himself to his 147,000 Twitter followers, the 55-year-old looked incredibly thin, compared to how he appears on the ITV show.
Discussing his weight loss journey to The Sun in March, Mark said: “This is the lightest I’ve been in 25 years. I’m now under 20 stone, and I am really feeling the difference, as well as seeing it.”
