Holly Willoughby started to tear up on Monday’s This Morning, as she witnessed some heart-wrenching footage from Emma Willis’ new documentary series.
The Voice UK host, 44, appeared on the ITV daytime show to discuss the debut of Emma Willis: Delivering Babies in 2020, which sees her follow the delivery of British babies during the pandemic.
Chatting with hosts Holly and Phillip Schofield, This Morning played a clip from the docuseries at one point, which saw nurses fight to save the life of a newborn baby.
The scene was a traumatic one, but ended on a positive note, as the resuscitated baby let out a cry, with her parents breathing a sigh of relief.
After the footage aired, the camera returned to the ITV studios, with Holly’s eyes filling with tears.

She remarked: “That’s a hard watch, actually.”
Emma was just as moved, holding her face in her hands as she reflected on the upsetting scenes on the show.
Gesturing to their stricken expressions, Phillip said: “Look at you now.”
Emma then described watching the scene play out for the first time, praising the professionalism of the midwives working for the NHS.
She said: “I’ve been there on the ward and it’s absolutely terrifying.”

This will be Emma’s third Delivering Babies series, with the TV personality having trained to become a Maternity Care Assistant at Harlow’s Princess Alexandra Hospital.
The latest series will be the most gruelling yet, as Emma explores what it’s like to be pregnant and give birth during a global pandemic.
Viewers watching from home on Monday morning were equally moved, with many confessing the raw footage had left them reaching for their tissues.
One Twitter user said: “Crying at @thismorning with @EmmaWillis #emotional.”

And a third chimed: “Omg @thismorning @EmmaWillis I’ve got tears already !!!”
