Netflix has revealed Tiger King 2 will air later this year with the release of an exciting new trailer.
Posting to Twitter on Thursday, the streamer’s official Twitter account confirmed the true crime documentary series will return for a second run within the next few months.
A caption read: “Tiger King is coming back this year — and Season 2 promises just as much mayhem and madness as Season 1!”
The first season of Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness premiered in March 2020 and introduced the world to exotic animal owner Joe Exotic and his arch nemesis Carole Baskin.
Joe is still incarcerated for supposedly hiring an employee to bump off the blonde tiger sanctuary owner.
Clips from the forthcoming second season are featured in Netflix’s new true crime teaser trailer.
The trailer sees Joe speaking on a payphone from his prison.
Carole also features briefly in the trailer, despite previously stating that she would have no more involvement with the show after being “misled” by its producers.
In February, she told Radio Times: “When [Tiger King executive producer Rebecca Chaiklin] said she wanted to clear the air, I felt like, you know, that’s just absolutely ridiculous.
“It was so obvious that I had been betrayed by them.
“Why would she ever think that I would be willing to speak to them again?
“And so I told her to just lose my number.”
Joe was sentenced to 22 years in prison in 2020 for the murder-for-hire plot on Carole and other offences.
His conviction was affirmed by a judge in July, who ordered the former zoo owner be resentenced.
Also featured in the Netflix trailer is a billboard pleading for information about the disappearance of Carole’s first husband, Don Lewis.
The businessman disappeared in August 1997.
Don’s ex-wife and daughters have spoken publicly of their belief Carole was involved in his murder.
Earlier this month, Tiger King star Eric Cowie was found dead at the age of 53.
Tiger King 2 will air on Netflix later this year.
