Stepping back into the limelight after a long period of time can be a daunting yet exciting experience for most celebs.
But for Fran Parman, returning back onto the set of the popular reality show TOWIE meant she was faced with unwanted trolling and online bullies who commented on her weight gain.
The star wore a white mini dress to return to the show but received negative comments regarding her appearance.
Six months after rejoining the cast of the popular ITV show, Fran, 30, has managed to lose weight and get back to her original physique.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Star, Fran spoke about her trolling experience and what it was like being back in the limelight.
Fran explained: “Obviously the trolling wasn’t nice and you know everyone’s put on a little bit of weight during lockdown so it wasn’t nice to see those messages.”
She continued: “I’ll be honest with you in this job you do have to be very thick-skinned and I’m using my platform to raise awareness and spread positivity.
“At the end of the day, it is still a normal job and should be treated as such. You should be able to work without having the fear of being abused for your looks.”
Fran managed to lose a significant amount of weight since returning to TOWIE in September and wants to ensure her fans that she did manage the weight loss naturally.
Fran said: “You can lose weight normally without having do something to your body. You can lose weight without having to make any sort of alterations on Instagram.”
When speaking about whether there is pressure on women to look a certain way on Instagram, Fran agreed that there is.
The reality star explained: “There is most definitely a pressure, but it’s always been like this for women over the years. Instagram is definitely a fake platform.”
She continued: “Even back in the day with magazines, there was always a pressure and they always showed a certain perception of women.”
Earlier this month Fran took to Instagram on International Women’s Day to share her concerns regarding the abuse over the dress she wore returning to TOWIE.
The star wrote: “The amount of abuse I got on this day was not ok. No one knew my story, everyone judged and was quick to bring me down just over a dress.
“I was so sad on this day but I look back and thank you for the trolling.”
Fran has now moved on and is excited about her new project that she has coming up which involves supplements and healthy shots.
The reality star said she’s now creating her own supplements and drinks to help people on their weight loss journey.
She said: “I’ve always been interested in that sort of stuff, I’m quite a geek in a sense because I like to find out about different ingredients and what supplements go together.”

When Fran was asked what she can’t wait to do most once lockdown is officially lifted, the ex Towie star replied: “I really can’t wait to see my girls! I really can’t wait to go out-out and get dressed up and have a nice cocktail!”
