Weather forecaster Carol Kirkwood appeared to be missing from BBC Breakfast on Wednesday morning as she was replaced by Owain Wyn Evans.
The bubbly meteorologist usually presents the weather from Monday right through to Wednesday but she was nowhere to be seen this morning.
Fans were not given an explanation for Carol’s absence but Owain also appeared in the BBC studio alongside presenters Sally Nugent and Dan Walker – something that rarely takes place on the show.
Highlighting the change, BBC Sport reporter John Watson took to Twitter to share a picture of himself, Sally, Dan and Owain on the red sofa.
He penned: “Good morning all from @BBCBreakfast. Look who is joining us on the sofa @OwainWynEvans. Have a fab day everyone.”
Owain also jumped on Twitter on Wednesday morning and said: “Good morning everyone.
“Feeling a bit more like spring over the next few days thanks to THAT area of high pressure! We’re not quite there yet though. I’ll have the full details on @BBCBreakfast throughout the morning xxx.”
Last year November, fans were left confused when regular host Carol was replaced by Sarah Keith-Lucas.
But some viewers were clearly missing Carol, as one person took to Twitter to question: “No-one presenting the weather in Carol’s absence then?”
While another upset fan tweeted Carol directly to express that they missed her on the show.
“It’s the coldest day of the autumn and you’re not here to warm us up,” the social media user wrote.
On Tuesday morning, weather presenter Carol, 59, warned fans of the impact of Storm Celia in Spain, and how the dust could affect the UK.
She explained: “Storm Celia was named by the Portuguese met service and has been affecting parts of Spain and Portugal is produced a lot of rain 50 millimetres in less than a day.
“So it has led to some flooding but strong winds around it have dragged the dust from the Sahara, across parts of Spain and Portugal moving across France as well as.
She added: “There has been very poor air quality today in parts of Spain, and it could well affect us in the southeast and East Anglia on Wednesday.
“So if you wake up on Wednesday and your car is covered in orange dust you know where it’s coming from and why.
