BBC Breakfast's Naga Munchetty fumes at Charlie Stayt as he quizzes Carol on blouse

The BBC Breakfast appeared to become tense when the topic of clothing was addressed by host Naga Munchetty on Thursday’s show.

Naga, 44, had pinpointed that she and weather expert Carol has almost coordinated their attire – which was quite fitting with many topics on the programme.

The TV pair had unknowingly both opted to wear on-trend animal print blouses.

Highlighting that Charlie had missed out on the theme, Naga said: “So we’ve spoken about elephants so far in the programme and there is an animal theme going on but you didn’t seem to get the memo.

Not taking the hint, Charlie remarked: “About?”

Charlie couldn’t seem to distinguish which print Naga and Carol had been wearing

“The animal print,” pointed out his co-star.

“Ahh okay, okay,” he smiled.

“That’s the penny dropping,” joked Naga.

Pointing to the presenter’s blouse, Charlie asked: “This one is what?”

“Urghhhhh,” sighed Naga before reluctantly responding with one word which was: “zebra.”

Charlie commented: “Is it? Is it now? It’s not exactly zebra though is it.

He insisted: “That’s not zebra, zebras have stripes.”

Charlie annoyed Naga when he asked Carol about her blouse

Holding her hand on her head in shock, Naga appeared to be lost for words as she remained silent on the matter.

“Have we got a picture of a zebra? Or can we get up a picture of a zebra just to clarify?” Charlie asked the crew for back-up on the subject.

“We would normally have a picture of a zebra on standby for this moment in case it happens,” he added.

With weather expert Carol Kirkwood now in the frame he pointed at Naga’s top: “That apparently is a zebra Carol,” before turning his attention to the meteorologist who was also wearing animal print.

Carol couldn’t withhold her giggles

He asked the weather reporter: “What’s that?”

Naga fumed: “Really, you’re really asking?”

Carol who appeared on the screen could not withhold her giggles as she replied: “It’s a leopard. We’ve got a zebra and a leopard Charlie, bless your heart.”
