BBC star Louise Minchin sends out plea for help as she shares 'recovery' fears

BBC Breakfast Presenter Louise Minchin has taken to Twitter to ask followers for advice during her month-long bike journey through Argentina.

The 53-year-old breakfast host, who’s cycling through the South American country with the athlete Mimi Anderson shared fears over her “road to recovery” and has asked for “help” from others.

In response to the former Olympic champion Chris Hoy’s tweet, Louise said to her 242,100 followers: “This is going to be quite a recovery ride! I have no idea how I am going to feel.”

“If anyone would like to help me at the back, I would be delighted!!”

Chris’ Hoy’s original tweet said: “Don’t forget this evening’s #DoddieAid on @GoSwift starts at 6.15pm sharp!”

“@Louiseminchin is back from Argentina to be our super sweeper, it’s 25km and it’ll be short and sharp.”

The ex BBC presenter’s many helpful fans and followers were quick to reply with their support.

One encouraging fan tweeted: “Best of luck Louise, whatever you do is amazing!”

Another added: “Hey Louise, you can smash it! Good luck!”

The mum-of-two has continued to update her followers about her treacherous month-long bike journey on social media.

The presenter joked that she had named her bike “Juanita” and that they had been having a great time together.

Touring around the tropically Argentinian landscape Louise explained that she shit “a little blop” on her adventure at around the 170km mark.

Louise told fans: “What a journey from the Andes, from the border with Chile, all the way across Argentina, minus a little blip, a Covid blip in the middle of 170km.”

“Juanita and I — look at her absolutely covered in mud. I have been cleaning her.

‘”She’s kept me safe, we’re all safe and it’s been a fabulous journey. Incredible views. Amazing wildlife.”
