Liam Payne may have given his son, Bear, a telling off but later admitted he was proud of his way of getting a day off school, by pretending he had coronavirus.
The former One Direction star, 28, shares the four-year-old tot with his ex-girlfriend Cheryl, 38, who he split from in 2018 after just two years of dating.
While the former Girls Aloud star remains relatively private with her life away from the media, Liam shared a tale with his millions of Instagram followers about their son who went to the extreme to get a day off school.
But, despite praising Bear, the Strip That Down singer admits he also gave him a telling off.

During a question and answer with fans, where one asked how his son was, he responded: “Bear is good.
“He went to school the other day and he didn’t want to go, and I think he learned that if you have Covid you don’t have to go to school, which is quite sneaky but also quite smart.”
He went on to say: “He figured out if he pretended to say ‘I’ve got the virus’ then he would get the day off school.

“Apparently it went so far as to him telling the teacher… I didn’t even know what a virus was when I was four, sneaky.
“He did get a telling off for it, but I kind of have to give him props for it as well, because my pretending to get off school when I was a kid was not that extravagant…
“I’m not proud of him in a way, but I’m happy with the level of deviousness, childish deviousness.”

Since going their separate ways, Cheryl and Liam have co-parented their first child with Liam recently claiming Bear was “overjoyed” after learning that his dad was featured in a Disney movie.
Liam performed the title track for Ron’s Gone Wrong and went on to say: “Who doesn’t want to be involved in a Disney project? But the biggest appeal was the chance for Bear to see something I’m doing and really enjoy it.

“I was FaceTiming him on the way to the premiere this week, I’d had a little toy of Ron with me and he was like, ‘Wow, it’s your movie’, he’s overjoyed.”
But Bear’s joy might have been Cheryl’s pain, with the singer continuing: “He’s been watching my music video for Sunshine ( on repeat this week.
“It must be really annoying for Cheryl, having that playing around the house all the time as it really gets into your head but it’s amazing to have him be so into something.”
