EastEnders Charlie Brooks shares emotional BTS pic with Danny Dyer after tragic exit

EastEnders star Charlie Brooks has shared a BTS snap of her and on-screen husband Danny Dyer following his exit from the BBC One soap.

The 45-year-old’s time on the show came to an explosive end after almost a decade during last night’s episode (December 25).

In the dramatic episode, his character Mick Carter was seen jumping into the water to try and save his ex-wife Linda after she and Janine drove off a cliff and into the English Channel.

In the snap to Charlie’s 152k followers, both soap stars beamed for the camera.

She captioned the sweet selfie: “@officialdannydyer last ep tonight. Not a dry eye in the house. Well done DD. LOVE YA!”

Fans of the iconic soap soon flooded the comments section to express their emotion at seeing the BTS snap.

“Crying all the way,” someone wrote.

“I thought you hated Janine Mick!!” a third viewer joked, before adding: “gonna miss you Mick/Danny made me tear up tonight.”

Someone else from another account commented: “Well done to everyone in the episode absolutely incredible! Goodbye Mick.”

Some fans though are hoping his character will return in the future.

“Next week he washes up in Australia and ends up on Ramsey Street,” someone joked.

A second person added: “Hopefully they’ll pull a Harold Bishop and bring him back in 5 years with amnesia.”

Last week, Kellie Bright, who plays Linda Carter, opened up to Daily Star about Danny’s departure from the show.

She said: “There were a lot of tears on and off screen but I have spoken to him nearly everyday since he’s left so the reality is he’s still my friend and it’s still going to be in my life but it’s just the end of a chapter.

“I’m not very good at saying goodbye at the best of times but everything about that job has been me and him so it did feel like the end of an era.”

Kellie, who joined the soap with Danny back in 2013, went on to address her future as Linda and revealed that she “doesn’t know” what her new chapter looks like without Mick.

I’m not going. I’m staying for the foreseeable future,” the former Strictly Come Dancing contestant confirmed.

“I’m still having a great time there. I’m hoping I’m still going to laugh a lot. It’s just going to be different. It’s too soon to tell.”
