Fans what have to wait to find out exactly what happens to Mick but Danny’s co-star Kellie Bright, who plays his Mick’s wife Linda Carter, has let slip what fans can expect over the festive period.

Opening up about Danny’s departure, the soap star said: “Kellie is very sad. I mean there were a lot of tears on and off screen but I have spoken to him nearly everyday since he’s left so the reality is he’s still my friend and it’s still going to be in my life but its just the end of a chapter.

“I’m not very good at saying goodbye at the best of time but everything about that job has been me and him so it did feel like the end of an era.

“It’s explosive. I don’t think anyone will be disappointed across the Christmas episodes.

“I think people will be happy with what EastEnders have done. Danny is so well loved there and there was a lot of care and attention and had the best team behind it.”

Kellie, who joined the soap with Danny back in 2013, went on to address her future as Linda and revealed that she “doesn’t know” what her new chapter looks like without Mick.

“I’m not going. I’m staying for the foreseeable future,” the former Strictly Come Dancing contestant confirmed.

“I’m still having a great time there.”

“I’m hoping I’m still going to laugh a lot. It’s just going to be different. It’s too soon to tell.

“I feel quite excited about what the future might bring for Linda.

“It’s going to be a brand new chapter for her and I don’t know what that looks like.”
