Emmerdale actress Amy Walsh has given birth to her first child with EastEnders actor Toby-Alexander Smith.
The real-life soap couple met in the audience of Strictly Come Dancing back in 2019 before they took the plunge to move in together four months into the relationship because of lockdown.
They have since welcomed their first child together over the Christmas period, sharing an adorable snap of the now family-of-three enjoying a walk together.
Amy, 33 and Toby, 31, gazed lovingly at their newborn child in their pram as the Gray Atkins actor wrapped his arm around his girlfriend.
Speaking to OK! Magazine, Amy said: “Well…it’s been a busy week! Hope you all had a good one. HAPPY NEW YEAR from the three of us.”
In November, the actress revealed she was looking forward to labour, adding that she was “made” to give birth.
Kimberley Walsh’s sister told OK!: “I feel weirdly excited about it, I’m sure everyone who’s been through it reading this will laugh but it’s something I’ve always wanted to experience.
“I’ve always felt I was made to do it. I’m very aware of how scary it could be so I know it won’t be a bed of roses, but what I’m most looking forward to is going through that journey with Toby.”
While the couple have not yet revealed the gender of their first child, they have confirmed that they have several ideas for their off-springs name.
Amy confirmed: “We have one for each which we were set on before we were even pregnant.
“They’re from our lockdown walks when we were talking about our baby names.
“We’ve even called the bump those names, one day the girl name, the next the boy name, but then recently I’ve been like, ‘I feel a bit bored of these names [laughs]!’ So we’re starting to discuss them again.”
ITV star Amy first spoke to OK! Magazine about their baby joy in September.
She said: “We’re so excited to become parents. It feels as though the way everything happened was meant to be.
“I thought I might struggle with fertility, so for pregnancy to happen quite easily and when I wanted – I was gobsmacked. We feel incredibly lucky.”
Amy, 34, is the sister of Girls Aloud star Kimberley Walsh and was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovaries when she was 20 years old, she feared she may struggle to conceive.
She told the publication: “I always thought falling pregnant was going to be a battle. Toby knew how worried I was, especially as I’m a bit older.
“I did wonder if it would ever happen for me, so it feels like a blessing.”
Rumours began to circulate that Toby-Alexander had a new love interest in December 2019 after he was spotted out on a date in London with Amy.
It wasn’t long before Toby-Alexander and Amy went Instagram official after she posted a selfie of them together onto her story.
The couple celebrated Toby’s 30th during a lockdown and Amy took to Instagram to share a sweet snap with her beau.
Toby, who plays villain Gray Atkins in the BBC One soap, shared the snap on his page too and wrote the caption: “Thank you for making it so special.”
