Gordon Ramsay has taken a savage swipe at Lord Sugar ahead of the famed chef’s new BBC show – Future Food Stars.
The Michelin-starred chef, 55, is launching his latest food show Future Food Stars on Thursday night (March 31) – which will air to BBC One and BBC iPlayer every week.
The Apprentice-style show sees 12 of the nation’s best budding food and drink entrepreneurs battle it out in a bid to impress Gordon and earn his whopping £150,000 investment.
The 12 hand-picked contestants will compete against each-other in a series of relentless challenges to prove they have what it takes to truly shine in the food and drink business.
However, it’s no secret that Gordon’s new show follows a similar format to Lord Sugar’s hit BBC business show, The Apprentice, which has been running for 16 years.
Fans of The Apprentice will know well that the business magnate’s series also involves entrepreneurs take on gruelling tasks to prove themselves capable of earning Lord Sugar’s cash investment.
World-famous chef Gordon doesn’t sound too worried about upsetting Lord Sugar with the new series, though.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Star and other press about his show, he said: “It’s a food and drink, lifestyle business show.
“So fingers crossed this is going to rub Alan Sugar’s feathers the wrong way.”
He then added: “I think I’ve lost a customer there. Who gives a f***?”
He went on: “All jokes apart, I’m a big fan of The Apprentice and obviously just that business-sense.”
Revealing how the show came about, Gordon said it was all about bringing “a little bit more magic to the industry”.
“When were started talking with [his team], it was about bringing a little bit more magic to the industry and looking at the bourgening ideas that had been created 15 years ago.
“The show wasn’t possible because we never had that respect in central Europe as a stand-out industry so now we are in an amazing position to rival fellow countries with some amazing food and drink ideas.”
Gordon also hinted at a future stint on Strictly Come Dancing following the success of his daughter Tilly on the series last year with her pro dance partner Nikita Kuzmin.
When asked if he’d ever be tempted to do Strictly, Gordon replied: “In a f***ing heartbeat,” before insisting he wouldn’t look any good wearing sequins.

Gushing over Tilly’s hard work, the proud dad added: “Tilly was [brilliant], and even watching her do the Zooms for the uni and we had a big breakthrough three years ago.
“Megan was the first one to get a degree and none of them had had a degree in the family so that was quite a big one.
“So Tilly wasn’t given the opportunity so we’re so grateful for the Strictly, and she worked her a**e off and so, you sort of forget as a sort of 40, 50, sometimes 60-hour graft goes into that two minute sequence so I flew back, watched it and thought ‘man’.”
Gordon Ramsay’s Future Food Stars airs March 31 at 9pm on BBC One.
