Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway has offered an emotional update on her husband Derek Draper after he was rushed back to hospital.
Speaking to the Daily Star on the red carpet of the National Television Awards, the star admitted Derek had gone through an “acute crisis” as she confessed he is still in hospital.
Kate put on a brave face as she attended the star-studded event with her 16-year-old daughter Darcey, with Kate wowing in a floor-length silk dress.

Complete with a pleated skirt and a wraparound top secured with a waist-hugging bow, Kate looked stunning as ever as she finished off her ensemble with a pair of gold waterfall earrings.
Kate is nominated for Best Authored Documentary for her ITV programme Caring For Derek, up against Julia Bradbury’s Breast Cancer and Me, Tom Parker’s Inside My Head, Paddy and Christine McGuinness’ Our Family and Autism and Katie Price: What Harvey Did Next.
Speaking of her attendance at the event, Kate told Daily Star: “Well, there are some mixed emotions in some ways, because obviously you didn’t want to be in a position to have a story like this to tell.
“But because the focus was on caring for Derek, the fight he’s gone through and all the wonderful people all over the country who have to care for those who they love, it feels nice for them. It’s very nice to be nominated.”
Offering an update on her husband, who was in a coma for a year after contracting Covid-19, Kate said: “He’s still in hospital. He had to go back in due to the acute crisis with his kidneys, but now we’re on the right side of things.
“Hopefully he’ll be coming home soon,” she added.
