Keith Lemon confirms TV show has been axed and shares reason behind decision

Keith Lemon has revealed that his Channel 4 show has been axed.

The 48-year-old television star, real name Leigh Francis, fronted The Fantastical Factory of Curious Craft alongside Naked Attraction host Anna Richardson.

The quirky craft competition saw contestants compete to secure commissions from celebrity guests.

Among those looking for unique designs to take home were Eamonn Holmes, Martin Kemp, Spencer Matthews and Nick Grimshaw.

However, Keith has since confirmed that the show has now been renewed.

Speaking during an Instagram live Q&A earlier this week, the Celebrity Juice star shared: “No it won’t be back.

“I really enjoyed doing it but I think it was too expensive.”

Keith’s role was Factory Controller and he was forced to make decisions over who to send home in the competition.

He told The Sun ahead of the show’s launch in 2020: “I thought it would be easy.

“When I saw Simon Cowell on the X Factor I thought what an easy job, shattering dreams.

“It’s terribly hard. It’s horrible sometimes when you’ve seen them spend four to six hours on something and it’s ace. But you still have to send someone home.

“I have to think of tax bills to stop myself tearing up.”

Keith recently joked that Holly Willoughby’s husband Dan Baldwin made him say “bad” stuff to her on Celebrity Juice.

Holly was one of the original team captains alongside Fearne Cotton, before they left the ITV show.

Keith made an appearance on Lorraine last month and spoke to Christine Lampard about his television favourites.

At one point, the cheeky chap asked Christine if she was asking her own questions or if a producer was telling her what to say through her ear-piece.

Brunette beauty Christine said the questions were her own and nobody was telling her what to say – unless it was time to wrap it up to go to an ad break.

Keith went on to confess that he often had producers telling him to say stuff on the wacky ITV2 show, going as far to say that Dan – who is a television producer on the show – told him to be “bad” to Holly.

He said: “When I do Juice there’s often someone in my ear going, ‘Say this.’

“Normally it’s Holly’s husband saying, ‘Say this bad thing to my wife,’ and I’m like, ‘No way! I’m not saying that!'”
