Laila Rouass says she's doing 'fine' after Ronnie O'Sullivan relationship split

Laila Rouass has opened up about her split from long-term love Ronnie O’Sullivan, saying break ups can be “a good process”.

The Footballers’ Wives actress confirmed earlier this month that she and the snooker star had called time on their romance after almost a decade together.

“After nearly 10 years of love and memories, Ronnie and I have parted ways,” she tweeted, later adding that splits could be “the beginning of new adventures and learnings”.

Laila was asked about the break-up during an appearance on Steph’s Packed Lunch and she said she was doing “fine”.

“I’ve just been manifesting, using self-compassion practices and it’s been, you know, you just get through it,” she said.

“It can be a good process.”

Laila, 50, also spilled the beans about the possibility of Footballers’ Wives making a comeback.

The actress played Amber Gates on the show from 2004 to 2006 and said she reckoned it was high time it was resurrected.

“I think it is actually a great time to bring that back,” she told host Steph McGovern.

“It was never actually about the football, it was about the wives.

“You’ve got these crazy women who are ambitious and feisty and get up to no good.

“We would get the scripts and you would think, ‘We can’t do that, that’s so farfetched.’ Fast forward two years – every footballer and their grandmother were up to it. We didn’t even touch the sides with our storylines!”

Referring to the row between real-life footballers wives Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy, Steph teased: “With everything going on at the minute with Wagatha Christie…”

“Oh that’s nothing,” said Laila.

“On Footballers’ Wives, we wouldn’t be going to court. We would be pulling each other’s hair extensions out!”

Laila and Ronnie got together in 2012. They got engaged the following year but never tied the knot.
