Loose Women's Carol McGiffin says she regrets sharing sex life issue with ITV co-star

Loose Women star Carol McGiffin has revealed she regrets telling her ITV co-star Kaye Adams about her sex life issue.

The TV presenter, 62, once told her Loose Women pal Kaye that she hadn’t had sex for seven years – a personal confession she made off-screen.

However, Kaye later shared news of Carol’s bedroom dry spell on live TV during an episode of Loose Women, which meant the issue was broadcast live to the nation.

Carol opened up about the time during an on-air discussion about cancel culture and people getting offended by things.

Although Carol insisted she didn’t have many regrets about thing she’s said on air, she did say she wished she hadn’t told Kaye about her sex issue.

She said: “Going back to Loose Women, I think probably I wish I hadn’t have told Kaye Adams that I hadn’t had sex for seven years.

“That was way before Mark (her now husband),”

Kate asked her if the experience “haunted her”, to which Carol replied: “I didn’t say it on air, I told the Loose Women and then they said it.”

She went on: “Kaye said it on air. In a way it wasn’t a viral moment, but it became a thing.”

Kate replied: “It became a thing because when you started dating Mark literally people were thinking about street parties because she was open again for business.”

She added: “It was such a big deal. Maybe we should have a party because Carol’s had sex.”

Carol also spoke about the experience on On White Wine Question Time, where she said it was partly beneficial to have attracted that level of attention.

She explained her “mojo” faded after her mum passed away in 2003, and she still lacked self-esteem seven years later.

However, she went on to meet her husband Mark Cassidy.

Kate told Carol she had been suffering “deep grief” at the time, and that those experiences shut down your “emotional toolkit”.

She told Carol she admired her for speaking about how important it is to remember it’s okay to be single.

She said: “You don’t have to be with someone to be someone.”

Carol married Mark in 2018, and earlier this year they celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary in the Maldives.
